Tubby and Coo's - New Orleans - visited Feb 2016

New Orleans is a terriffic city and I had a great time presenting at the 'ASLO Aquatic Sciences' conference. I also had a great time in the evenings enjoying various entertainments. One of which was doing the new 'Discourse and Donuts' discussion group at the 'Tubby and Coo's' Mid-Town bookshop.

Talking about my 'Fantastic Travel Destinations' cards with some of the attendees.

The bookshop sells both new and second hand unusual fiction, from a fully converted New Orleans townhouse easily reached by tram from the city centre. They are well stocked (and knowledgable) about both books and boardgames, particularly the eurogames. There are kids rooms and rooms for more unusual fiction in general.

Some unlikely literate neighbours on that shop staircase...

The shop has been open for a few years, they have an active local community of readers, attend conventions and are very pro-active in supporting unusual fiction and unusual fiction events... If you are in the city for a while you should check out their online calendar for events and maybe attend something or other. I was pleased to do a 'Donuts and Discourse' discussion there... I have also done an illustration of the shop destroyed (loved) by a monster... see the bottom of the page...

There are some fun oddities in the second hand section...
