Part of the fun of reading 'Ice' by Anna Kavan, as a vaguely hetrosexual married male, is wondering to what extent you are represented by the main male protagonist - who actually fills up several characters, despite being one individual... oh, I cannot explain it well...


..anyway, as one reads the story the good intentions initially observed in this character are progresssively overwritten by glints of more ambiguous and downright hateful intentions...


..As with 'Aerodrome' by Rex Warner, another book i have illustrated twice in the range, the reader cannot really help looking inside himself for signs of totalitarian behaviour and overriding self-concern.  Great stuff!
