Ursula K. Le Guin - Hainish Cycle

Ursula K. Le Guin used science fiction to explore ideas of governance and the interactions of people under differing stresses, as well as exploring how evolution (be it natural or guided) may alter humans into the future, and how this may further impact on their societies.

 

To me, the series isn't so dissimilar in scope to the 'Canopus In Argos' series by Doris Lessing... my next poster series perhaps?!?
