Deep sea ecologist / illustrator
I currently work for the Alfred Wegener Helmholz Institute for Polar and Marine Science, Bremerhaven, Germany. I generally spend several months a year at sea running the deep water camera systems for German research vessels, analysing the distribution of deep sea animals in relation to environmental change.
In addition to this I am a keen illustrator, using primarily my work as inspiration, as well as my lifelong interest in unusual fiction (i.e. science fiction, fantasy, strange fiction and awkward to characterise novels).
